the world of MUSICALS~
woo~went to watch a musical this week!!yes!on reading week!! the time when it is the most stress.the time when everyone tries to squeeze in everything that they can before the exam! and what i'm doing? enjoying myself with such a high culture hobby (hahahaha.all thanks to soci and ssa)
how i got started.it all began with church.we use to have christmas musicals since i was 4 years old until primary school days.that was the time where everyone will be so busy, we will meet up at either neil road or chancery lane for rehearsals. the time when u see the whole church gathering together for a purpose:)
to add on, influencing me into musical was the opening of Esplanade on my birthday. it was a big thing! thought one day i must watch something there!no matter how expensive it will be!once was enough for me then when i was young:) to my surprise, it jus kept me hook on! it

all begin with MAMA MIA - the musical.

it just caught my attention. the dance, the music, the acting, the backdrop, EVERYTHING jus caught my attention! Love the way they present the storyline. it just caught me, and thats just the beginning!

next was Phantom of the Opera.

watched the movie and was really excited to watch the theatre production. some of the scenes that i saw on the movie, kept me wondering how they will bring it to life performance. the first time, i saw how a musical make use of the whole stage area!from the front to the back.from the floor to the ceiling.they make use of the whole space that can be seen from the audience seats. the drop of the chandelier, the fall from the steps, the disappear acts of the phatom!it just keeps you at the end of your seats!

after that was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

have u seen a flying car!yes.the story is about a flying car. marilyn and i were guessing how they were making the car fly.was it a cable, or was it a platform?or using air??hahaha...the secrets...behind the scenes. something different from the usual. not forgetting the way they try to present "distance". a car moving into the horizon!:) *the remote control car* go watch when you have the chance and you will understand:)

the latest! CATS! and it just gets better!
the WHOLE theatre was their stage.the interaction with audience. even not forgetting those sitting at the 2nd floor and above!more dance then singing of course "memory" was touching!:)the make up different from usual.its captivating:) the actors were really great.always in character no matter whether the spot light was on them or not!their movements were really like life cats:)

it always just get better and better:) i'm just hoping for more musicals to come! RENT!HAIRSPRAY! and many more!
looking at their performance, it just reminds me that when people work together in unity and having a goal in mind, it is that powerful. the dynamics are able to catch the people around. accomplishing the project together, it brings peopler even closer together. reminiscing the past when i had an opportunity to join in a production with my secondary school. the hardwork we put in for months paid-off and it brought us even closer together. we all have gone through those times when there wasn't enough time, staying back due to rehearsals, giving up your holidays to make the production even better...but those times were short. thats why i'm looking forward to such an opportunity again!

God knows the power of unity. thats why He gave different talents to different people.so that we can work together as a body in Christ and shine for Him.
the devil knows the power of unity. thats why he likes to sow discord within.so as to disrupt the plans of God.
In UNITY we must stand together! as everyone is important like the different parts in our brain. having different roles with a different purpose, but all to serve ONE body:)

*p.s. oh man!sounds like soci's functionalist thoery and reminds me of my bio psych*hahaha

Whose strength are you relying on??
well this week has been quite a roller coaster ride! (not forgetting to mention...we have a pair of free disneyland hong kong tickets!!!for FREE!!hahaha.)
i can now officially say that I'M DONE WITH ALL MY ASSIGNMENTS THIS SEM!!!yes!just handed in stats assignment! while this sem i'm filled with assignments rather than mid-term test. assignment have its pros and cons, u get more time to finish the paper, do a better job, but it will take a long long time before you are released from the clutches of the paper!!!that means you will need alot of stamina to sustain all the way till the end!!!and really the END (last day of sem)

when you wake up everyday, do you feel tired?do you dread that it is the start of the new day??think of those datelines to meet and the things that you will face tiring??
for me, initially, it was like that.i didn't feel like doing my stats paper, cos it was too free no restriction and my very last paper! plus i felt there wasn't much time left!i want to do, but i don't know how to start, don't know what to write and worry about the time factor!!

BUT!! have you felt a sudden peace in the midst of such things? I DID!!! its the kind of feeling that everything will be in control!in God's hands! i made a prayer, telling God to give me the strength all the way till the end! and HE DID!i was able to last till the very end! though with some obstacle at the very very last minute, i still got through that time! the feeling is great!cos there isn't much worries!:))and i still have time to finish my report plus finish my ssa readings!!its not 'readings' any more!!!hahahaha:))

SO...whose battery are you running on??are you running on your own battery (the battery that will always deplete in energy and needs recharge frequently) or GOD's battery (the battery whose energy level is always constant and more than what you need)??

for me?? i'm running on GOD's battery!!!everyday!!
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved" - Psalms 55:22

His strength is sufficient for you!what are you waiting for??
